welcome.

Hello and welcome to my photoblog. I am delighted to have you here! This blog serves as a way of sharing my most recent photo sessions with clients and their family and friends, and is also the first place to hear recent announcements about the studio as well as special blog-reader only discounts.

I am a primarily natural light portrait photographer based out of Madison, Wisconsin. My focus is on babies, children and families, although I also love to shoot a limited number of weddings per year. My portrait sessions take place entirely on location -- either at your home or at another location around Madison. I love to explore new places, so I'm very open to your suggestions. And of course, I have some favorite spots that I'm always ready to explore again as well.

In addition to my blog, please also check out my main website (it is the "my website" link on the menu above). If you have any questions or would like to book a session, please click on the "contact me" link in the menu above to send me an e-mail. Thanks again for stopping by, and please enjoy your visit!

style.

My approach toward photography is deceptively simple: catch real moments of your children really being themselves. Silly giggles, sweet kisses from mommy, tickles from a big sister, laughing while watching doggie run through the park... These are the moments that make up real life. These are the moments from childhood that pass by all too fast. And these moments, to me, are where the real beauty of childhood resides. The same philosophy governs my approach to wedding photography.

My style is largely photojournalistic and non-obtrusive, while at the same time I am always working to create beautiful and lasting memories of life as it unfolds. The most common words used to describe my photographs are the ones I have chosen as the tagline for my studio: Modern. Fun. Real. Life. People often comment that my photographs have a sense of warmth and emotion to them -- which I consider the highest compliment possible.

just two.

I was going through some photos from last weekend, doing my initial review and getting all my equipment ready for this weekend (3 shoots in 3 days — isn’t this supposed to be the slower season?) and I came across these two that I just had to share. Isn’t she just about the most precious...

Studio inauguration sessions, part I

This past Saturday, I held a sort of inauguration for my studio. A day of mini sessions, so that my clients and friends could check out the studio — and I could get some new photographs of little ones in the new place! The event was announced on my Facebook page for CaseyBower Photography. Which...

studio sneek peek.

I know that some of you have been curious to see what the studio space actually looks like. I’m not going to lie — it has been a LOT of work. More than I really pictured when I was first contemplating this adventure. But it’s almost “done” — and I am just in LOVE with...

One that I missed.

This evening I was going through Miss E’s newborn photos from about a month ago as part of an upcoming project. And I rediscovered the photo above. I had included it in the proofs that I gave the client, but for some reason in that first round of editing it hadn’t really jumped out at...

If you are so inclined…

Madison Magazine is holding a vote for their annual “Best of Madison” issue, and I would love it if you would vote for CaseyBower Photography in the “best local photographer” category. I figure my odds of winning are pretty slim, but it’s worth a shot right?

You must vote in a minimum of...

Beautiful. New. Family.

This post is long overdue, since I photographed this beautiful family back in December. This explains a little bit about the Christmas colors and lights in the background. Their little girl has now arrived, and is as cute as can be! In these maternity photos, there is such a feeling of excitement and anticipation…...

More new things.

(I promise that I will new photos up on the blog in the next few days…)
First of all, I apologize for the fact that my blog was lost in cyberspace for the last few days. I have been up to my elbows in computer programming (something I’m trying to learn as I go — not...

News! And new things!

Welcome to my recently renovated, totally different blog! After months of being frustrated by the limitations of my old blog (mainly image size, lack of customization options, and the old “wordpress” address), I have been working for a while on getting this new blog ready to launch. And even though there is still a bit...
